Swimming Lessons
Our swimming lesson follow the leading Swim England Learn to Swim Programme, the leading national teaching syllabus, helping children and adults to learn how to swim in a safe, effective and enjoyable environment.
Swimming lessons are available for all ages: babies (over four months), children, teenagers and adults. If you are entering the syllabus for the first time, but have previously had lessons, there will be a FREE assessment with a level 2 qualified instructor to ensure you or your children is in the correct lesson based on existing skills. Non swimmers or those unable to travel 5m with feet off the floor do not need an assessment.
FREE 10 minute assessments take place:
- Wednesday at 4.00pm – 4.30pm

Swim England Learn to Swim Programme
There are four specialised stages in the Swim England Learn to Swim Programme:
Pre-School Framework
This is an ideal introduction to water through fun and games for children from 4 months old. Made up of the following stages, Adult and Baby, Adult and Child and Pre-School 1 and 2 classes.
Adult & Baby sessions allow you to be in the pool with your child, whilst being guided by the instructors. In the Pre-School classes, your children progress to swimming without you in the water, but guided by our qualified teachers.
From these sessions, children will gain water confidence and foundations as they start their swim journey.
Adult and Baby lessons:
- For babies from 4 months to 18 months
Adult and Child lessons:
- For children from 18 months to 3 years old
Pre -School lessons:
- Pre-School 1 for children who are 3 years old and are under the age of 4, non-swimmers and are not at school.
- Pre – School 2 for children who are 3 to 4 years old and are able to swim up to 5 metres without aids on the front and back.
Learn to Swim Framework
Suitable for children aged between 4 and 11 years, the seven stages will teach children the fundamentals of swimming and help them to develop into confident and competent swimmers through fun and enjoyment.
Lessons take place throughout the week, Monday – Friday between 4.00pm – 7.30pm and Saturday and Sundays mornings from 8.00am:

- Stage 2
- Stage 3
- Stage 4
- Stage 5
- Stage 6
- Stage 7
Aquatics Skills Framework
For children who have completed the Learn to Swim Framework this stage helps them to develop existing skills further including competitive starts, turns, individual medleys, distance, strength and stamina. Synchro, water polo and diving are water based activities that our swimmers can be involved in on completion or during completion of stages 8, 9 and 10.
Lessons take place:
- Stage 8 – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday afternoons and Sunday mornings
- Stage 9 – Monday, Wednesday, Friday afternoons and Sunday mornings
- Stage 10 – Monday and Friday afternoons
Adult & child swimming classes
Lessons run between 10.30am – 1.00pm

Home Portal
The home portal will be able to view the current status of your child’s progress.
Before you can access the portal you will need to activate your child’s account by logging on below and following the instructions on the screen and validate the data. You will need to know your membership number.
Cancelling Swimming Lessons
Should you wish to cancel your swimming lessons, please complete the following form and a team member will be in touch shortly. Please note that a minimum of 14 days notice is required before the next direct debit is due to be collected, in order to process a cancellation request.
